The Skill Up and Get the Job you want seminar was held at the ISTTS (Surabaya Integrated Science and Technology Institute) auditorium on Friday, April 5 2024. This seminar was held by HIMAFOR (Informatics Student Association) with two speakers, namely Mariani as Project Manager from PT Djarum and Malvin Patrick Kurniawan as Fullstack Engineer PT Djarum.
This seminar initially started with an open gate around 15.00 to 15.30 then continued with the opening of the seminar by the MC, namely Adeltrudo Donal and Hoggie Sedharta Jangnaloka Riang.
in the first session, it was explained by Mariani who talked about Djarum Software, then explained in detail about the company's organizational structure, including which divisions were responsible for certain functions such as production, marketing, research and development, and finance, then discussed the objectives of each division, latest achievements, ongoing strategic projects, as well as inter-divisional synergy to achieve the company's overall vision and mission.
then this event continued with an ice breaking session using the quizziz platform before entering the second session. The quiziz session will provide seminar participants with the opportunity to participate in an interactive quiz involving questions about the material that has been discussed previously. This will not only deepen their understanding of the topic being presented, but will also create a fun and competitive atmosphere among the participants. By holding a quizizz session you can combine learning with entertainment, so that participants feel more involved and enthusiastic in listening to the material that will be presented in the next session.
In the second session of the seminar, the backend and engine services in Djarum were explained which were divided into several parts, namely Microsoft .NET, Spring + Spring Boot, OptaPlanner, jBPM, and GraphHopper by Malvin Patrick Kurniawan. explained in detail about each of these platforms and technologies, including their use, advantages, and practical applications in the company's daily operations. Starting from Microsoft .NET which is a powerful and sophisticated software development framework, to Spring + Spring Boot which is popular in Java-based application development, we discussed how these technologies support the backend and engine services needs in Djarum.
Apart from that, it also explains OptaPlanner, jBPM, and GraphHopper, which are platforms and services used for optimization planning, business process management, and efficient route mapping. It also explains how the use of these technologies has made a significant contribution to improving operational efficiency and decision making in various business areas in Djarum. With a deep understanding of backend and engine services, it is hoped that seminar participants can apply the knowledge gained to improve performance and innovation in their respective companies.
After explaining in detail about the backend and engine services used at Djarum, this seminar was continued with a question and answer session. This session provides participants with the opportunity to ask questions, provide responses, or share experiences related to the material previously presented. The speakers also tried to answer each question clearly and in detail, as well as discussing additional topics that might arise during the question and answer session. With this session, it is hoped that participants can better understand the concepts and implementation of backend and engine services that have been explained previously, as well as get answers to doubts or questions that arise in their minds.
The question and answer session is also an opportunity for speakers to listen directly to input from seminar participants, so that they can improve and improve the delivery of material in the future.
